TRACK WORK

Way and Works Branch is responsible for the track along with it's environs and is critical to our ability to run trains safely. This includes everything from track maintenance to vegetation clearance, bridges to platforms, buildings and signals.

​By necessity the track gang works outdoors more than any other group of volunteers - so a love of the outdoors and the Daylesford weather is definitely a benefit! Although some manual labour is still required, much of the work has been mechanised with our extensive fleet of track machines.

Training is offered in the operations of these machines and in the intricacy of track work, but if you can hold a paint brush or push a mower, there is a role for you.
