Become a Volunteer with daylesford Railway

Daylesford Railway exists because of the dedication and passion of our incredible volunteers.

For over 40 years, we have worked to ensure this treasured heritage can be experienced for generations to come. Together we’ve accomplished remarkable milestones, including reopening 9klm of railway line, restoring 7 items of rolling stock, constructing a brand-new station at Bullarto and developing the infrastructure you see today. However, to build on these achievements, while at the same time maintaining and operating the railway requires ongoing effort—and that’s where you come in!

If you can spare just a few hours a month, we’d love to welcome you to our friendly team of volunteers. Whether you bring specific skills or simply enthusiasm, there is a role for everyone. You don’t need prior railway experience; we’re an inclusive team, and we’ll help you find a role that suits you, with many of the essential administrative functions able to be done from the comfort of your own home.
