RM74 is one of six Dodge service cars converted in 1936 to run on rails as Passenger Mail Motors (PMMs) for the Victorian Railways. They were purpose build to carry up to ten second class passengers and 12 cwt. of mail on regularly scheduled advertised passenger services along lines in the less populated areas of Victoria.

The sole remaining example of the twelve 102hp Walker Railcars, they were part of Operation Pheniox, the plan to revitalise the Victorian Railways after the Second World War. Introduced to replace many of the mixed passenger and the wooden bodied railmotors from the 1920s on branchlines, they entered service in a distinctive blue and silver livery.

Double Ended Leyland railmotor 53RM is a unique survivor. One of four such vehicles that entered service with the Victorian Railways in 1925-1926. It is the only example, not just of those, but of the 23 wooden railmotors built between 1922 and 1926 in existence today.

A testament to Anglo-Australian railway engineering, 91RM stands as the final masterpiece in an order of twelve 280hp railcars from Walker Bros. in Wigan, England. The Walker 280 series revolutionised regional travel, with the first unit commencing service between Melbourne and Daylesford in June 1950. Carefully restored in 1990, 91RM has continued to delight visitors with its reliable service and historical significance.
